Specializing in children from early childhood through adolescence, with emphasis on behavior management, Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), learning differences, ADHD, anxiety, depression and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Dr. Levinson’s dedication to understanding the whole child is evident, both in her studies and in her practice. Her personal, compassionate, and hands-on approach with families has earned her international respect.
A licensed psychologist and a Nationally Certified School Psychologist, Dr. Levinson has extensive training in assessment and intervention and works with children therapeutically through cognitive-behavioral therapy. She has expertise helping children with developmental and learning differences, ADHD, ASD, Executive Functioning differences, as well as social, emotional and behavioral issues including anxiety, depression, and OCD.
Dr. Levinson’s education at Lehigh University spanned 12 years. Graduating Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Psychology, her undergraduate studies fueled a fascination with the field of Autism and inspired her pursuit of a master’s in special education, with an emphasis on behavior management, ASD and low incident populations. Expanding on a love of teaching, she was inspired to seek her PhD in School and Pediatric Psychology to further understand the “how and why” of children’s behavior.
Driven by a belief that even challenging behavior serves a functional purpose for a child, Dr. Levinson integrates her teaching, understanding of assessment and development, and her emphasis on CBT techniques to develop a tailored program for her clients. Raising three active children of her own, as well as years of distinguished professional practice in Hong Kong, has fostered a keen sense for how a child integrates and functions within various environments as well as the childhood challenges that transcend different cultures. A passionate child advocate with an innate ability to keep the focus on what’s best for the child, Dr. Levinson understands how to successfully navigate public and private school systems and has earned the trust of families around the world.
Dr. Levinson is a frequent contributor to parenting magazines worldwide. She serves on numerous boards focused on child development and and is an active member of her community. Dr. Levinson is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT), and the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC).
